Jupiter: World’s Most Expensive Desktop Computer

leave a comment »

This is it. Now you’ve got a very good reason to be extravagant. That is, if you really can afford it. Can you shell out £375,000 on a desktop PC? I can hear you say “Not if it is gold-plated”. I can assure you this one is more than gold-plated.

Dubbed Jupiter, the desktop PC’s case is solid platinum with diamonds that have been arranged to mimic astrological constellations. It would be a pretty rough deal to pay all that money and get no working innards though, so Zeus, the manufacturer, also chucks in Intel’s 3GHz E6850 Core 2 Duo CPU, 2GB of DDR 2 memory and a whopping 1TB hard drive.

A gold model is also available £280,000. It also has diamonds in its case and the same technical specifications. With this model you can save some cash.

Starry Night Sleep Technology: A Gadget Lover’s Bed

leave a comment »

Beds are originally meant to be a place of sleep or rest, where you shut your eyes and blank out to the world of dreams. A typical gadget lover wants more out of his bed. In between the time of wakefulness and shuteye, a geek will want to play with his gadgets. The Starry Night Sleep Technology Bed offers more than a sleeping place for the gadget lover.

The Starry Night Sleep Technology Bed includes wireless internet connectivity, an iPod docking station and a plethora of surround sound audio treats, including four 9in sub-woofers. But, rather than simply building an LCD TV into the foot of the bed, the Starry Night has a wall-facing 1080p LCD projector integrated into its headboard to provide a 6000:1 contrast ratio and 2000 lumens of brightness.

One other cool thing about this bed is that the bed’s sides rise automatically to stop snoring, and drop back when the snoring stops. You can also adjust temperature for separately for each side of the bed. I tell you, this is the type of bed I like to sleep on.

The bed is available in the range of $20,000 to $50,000 with the mattress.

leave a comment »

This solar powered cordless fan will keep you cool when the temperature gets hotter for your comfort. It draws power from the sun rays to protect you from the heat of the sun. This makes it the more interesting.

A full charge will keep you going for 8 hours. You also have the option to plug in into electricity in case you run out of the solar power. So, save yourself some bills on electricity and get cooled from the sun.

Not only does it feature a fan, it also boasts an alarm clock and doubles up as a cell phone/MP3 charger (though not compatible with all models). Perfect for traveling and camping, it also comes with a rechargeable lantern that has an LED light bulb. It costs about $60.

leave a comment »

We’ve finally reached the age. This is the age when you don’t have to guess what measure you have in your spoon. Let the spoon tell you itself. I mean, read it straight from the LCD of the spoon, be it grains, powder or liquid.

This Spoon Scale is simple and precise as it exactly weigh even the tiniest amounts down to the last 1⁄10 gram.

Fagor TP-2006 X Flat Toaster: Make a Toast, Get a Burn

leave a comment »

The Fagor TP-2006 X Flat Toaster comes with a cool design. It doesn’t look ordinary. Besides, you can toast larger items on it. But then, you better be careful with it, for you may be asking for more than toasted bread if you fail to concentrate while using it.

Why now?
- The surface is lined with extremely hot wires that are very well exposed. There is no way to cover it except with the toast.
- You have to manually flip over your toast, as both sides cannot be heated at once.

This is definitely no toaster to be used by children or somnambulist adults.

SOLo Lounge Table: A Fully Connected Table

leave a comment »

Tables are traditionally meant to be tables, and nothing else. As long as a table can stand and maintain its ground, it’s all well and done.

Well, the SOLo Lounge Table has carried the table concept a little far. Apart from being a table, it comes with some useful connectivity options, which are:

- Solar panels placed on the tables to gather energy to recharge your personal gadgets

- A USB port

- Bluetooth transmitter

- Charge controller and

- A LCD monitor to view it all.

This is in addition to blue LEDs that add cool lighting effects when dark.
