Touch360: Wireless USB Flash Drive

leave a comment »

Now you can keep your USB flash drive in your pocket while you copy or transfer files into it. This is made possible by a new product called Touch360.

We created a new product concept that allows users to keep their Flash Drives in their pockets (or purses) by utilizing wireless technologies (Bluetooth, Wireless USB, or other LAN/PAN).

It is needless to say that there will also be a ‘device’ that is essentially a battery-powered RF module that provides a dock for the flash drive.

Jupiter: World’s Most Expensive Desktop Computer

leave a comment »

This is it. Now you’ve got a very good reason to be extravagant. That is, if you really can afford it. Can you shell out £375,000 on a desktop PC? I can hear you say “Not if it is gold-plated”. I can assure you this one is more than gold-plated.

Dubbed Jupiter, the desktop PC’s case is solid platinum with diamonds that have been arranged to mimic astrological constellations. It would be a pretty rough deal to pay all that money and get no working innards though, so Zeus, the manufacturer, also chucks in Intel’s 3GHz E6850 Core 2 Duo CPU, 2GB of DDR 2 memory and a whopping 1TB hard drive.

A gold model is also available £280,000. It also has diamonds in its case and the same technical specifications. With this model you can save some cash.

Iogear’s Mobile Digital Scribe

leave a comment »

Many note takers today face a choice of either lugging a laptop everywhere or writing everything down by hand and then manually entering their notes into a computer. Meanwhile, if you’re a compulsive doodler or graphic artist, many of your best works may be buried somewhere in the margins of an old notebook.

Iogear’s Mobile Digital Scribe ($130) represents an innovative alternative for note takers and sketchers alike: an ink pen with a digital component. The Digital Scribe comes with a receiver, and it saves everything you write to plain paper as a digital file. When you plug the receiver into a Windows PC, the device lets you upload your handwritten notes and convert them into text documents via the bundled My Script Notes 2.1 Lite optical character recognition (OCR) software.

Wear Your Keyboard on Your Pants

leave a comment »

This is not a designer’s pants, but a designer’s keyboard. Yeah, a fully functioning keyboard sewn into the fabric of the Jeans. This is a product of designer Erik De Nijs.

This keyboard pants also includes speakers built into the knees, a pocket for mouse storage in the back, and a joy stick controller behind the zipper. This is geek’s madness carried a little bit far.

Give a little time, we will soon be wearing our monitors as spectacles.

Asus Plans to Build Laptop Casings with Bamboo

leave a comment »

This is a sharp departure from the conventional practice of using plastic or metal for the outer shell of laptop, although some aluminum frames will be used to offer the laptops some form of rigidity. Otherwise the bamboo will be a little flexible.

This is worth picking up as the design is beautiful. You might have to wait till June though. There will be both 11-inch and 12-inch variants of the bamboo notebooks, with pricing starting around $1650.
